Since 1978, Stuart J. Friedman has concentrated his law practice in estate planning and trust administration, representing closely held corporations and high net worth individuals with complex estate planning goals and objectives.
Mr. Friedman has extensive experience in Federal estate, gift, and income tax matters, and has represented many estates, corporations, and individuals in disputes before the Internal Revenue Service and the United States Tax Court.
Mr. Friedman is licensed to practice law in the jurisdictions of Illinois, Indiana, and Florida. On behalf of his clients, he drafts complex Wills and Trusts, family partnership agreements, and charitable Trusts. In summary, Mr. Friedman has handled all aspects of highly sophisticated estate planning. In connection with his estate planning practice, Mr. Friedman has drafted corporate buy sell agreements, restrictive stock transfer agreements, and represents shareholders in disputed matters involving closely held corporations.

Professional Background

Mr. Friedman was a shareholder of a law firm known as Pinkerton and Friedman, PC, beginning in 1978.  In April, 2009, Mr. Friedman merged his firm with a national law firm, and has now joined as a partner with the law firm of O’Neill, McFadden and Willett as of January 1, 2021.  In 2007 Mr. Friedman was certified by the Indiana State Bar Association as an Estate Planning and Administration Specialist.

Community and Civic Activities

Town of Munster, Indiana, Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals, having served as Past Chairman and Current Member of both the Commission and the BZA.

Munster Rotary Club, Board of Trustees, Member and Past President Received the “Rotarian of the Year” award from the Munster Rotary Club for his work in establishing the Rotary Shelter at Community Park in Munster, Indiana (2007)

Legal Counsel, Temple Beth El Endowment Fund, Munster, Indiana, also served as Secretary and Prior Member of the Temple Board of Trustees.
